State University has two music technology labs.
The Music Computing Lab is equipped with thirteen works
stations. Each of twelve stations has a Korg X5D synthesizer and an
iMac computer equipped with Sound Studio, Finale and ear training
software. Each work station has recording and printing capabilities.
An additional computer work station is available for specialized
recording and dubbing. This lab is used primarily by students taking
courses in theory, composition, arranging, vocal diction, applied
music (for SmartMusic), band pedagogy and other areas.
The Electronic Music Studio is available for more advanced
technological applications in composition and arranging. It contains four
work stations, each equipped with a Korg Triton
synthesizer and a Macintosh G4 computer equipped with Finale 2002, Digital
Performer and Sound Studio. Additional equipment and software are available
for recording, printing, scanning and advanced sound processing
applications.
