Gregory Jones teaches trumpet at Truman State University. He holds music degrees from Florida State University, the University of North Texas, and the Doctorate in Music Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. His wide variety of performance experiences include the Kansas City Sympony, the Moscow Radio Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Missouri Chamber Orchestra, the Eastman Wind Ensemble, The Texas Baroque ensemble, the Grand Teton Seminar Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, Allen Vizzutti, Al Jarreau, Audra McDonald, Bill Conti, John Tesh, the Dallas Cowboys Band, and many others. He has recorded for National Public Radio and performs often as a soloist or as a member of the Truman Brass, Chariton Brass Quintet, and Truman Chamber Ensemble.

Dr. Jones has served as an "Artist-In-Residence" in Greece, a recipient of a Senior Fulbright Grant from the United States Information Agency and the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. Each year, he travels to Washington DC to serve on the selection panel for Fulbright Awards in Southeast Europe, Greece and Turkey. Dr. Jones has judged for the National Trumpet Competition and recently performed as a guest recitalist and clinician at the Conservatories of Athens and Kalamata, Greece, the Moscow Conservatory in Russia, several conservatories in the People's Republic of China and throughout the United States. He can be heard most recently on Alternate Voices, a recording of chamber music featuring trumpet with the members of the Truman Chamber Ensemble. He lives in Kirksville, Missouri with his wife, Margo, an accomplished flutist and their children Derek and Rachel.
