at Truman State University
There are many different music organizations at Truman, including a chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota national women's music fraternity, a chapter of the Phi Mu Alpha national music fraternity, a chapter of the Pi Kappa Lambda national honor music society and a collegiate branch of the National Association for Music Education. For more information on the Truman chapter of SAI, visit Epsilon Pi and for more information on the Truman chapter of PMA, visit Upsilon Phi.

Pi Kappa Lambda
Pi Kappa Lambda is an honor society, the only music organization recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. It was dedicated by its founders to the fostering of scholarly interest in the theoretical and historical aspects of music, and to the pursuit of eminent achievement in performance, composition, music education and research.

The Society was founded at Northwestern University,
Evanston, Illinois, in 1918. The members of Pi Kappa Lambda are selected
for induction
based on evidence of both musical and academic excellence. They also
possess qualities that have enabled them to achieve distinguished careers at
Truman State University: personal integrity, leadership, open-mindedness and
intellectual stamina. For more information on the national organization
